Here's why a donation amount may not match the amount you receive in your deposit account. Credit card companies (via Stripe) charge fees. This amount is usually 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction. Unfortunately, these fees are not something 4giving can control. However, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, 4giving used money earned from tips to pay these fees on behalf of each nonprofit organization.

Let's use an example:

Happy Donor uses a credit card to give $100.00 to the Joyful Cause fundraiser.

Stripe securely processes the transaction and removes $3.20: ($2.90 + $0.30) for their 2.9% and $0.30/transaction fees.

The Joyful Cause fundraiser receives a net deposit of $96.80.

The accounting information for each donation can be found in the 'Donations' section of your Dashboard.

Here's an article in case you'd like to learn more about downloading donation information.

Now that you've learned more about how deposits work, it's a great time to launch your campaign. The button below will get you started!
